Congratulations on your upcoming Convocation!
We’re looking forward to celebrating with you during Convocation, 2–4 November 2026, at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. Your Convocation is a celebration of everything you have accomplished during your time at Thapar. From getting ready for the day to walking across the stage to receive your degree, this page brings together the information you’ll need along the way.

Who Will Be Celebrating
The 40th Convocation will celebrate students completing their journey at Thapar across:
- Undergraduate (UG) programmes
- Postgraduate (PG) programmes
- PhD programmes
Eligible students who have completed the requirements for their degree will receive their degrees during the Convocation.
Getting Ready for the Ceremony
Your cap and gown are part of the tradition of Convocation. Begin the ceremony with your tassel on the right side of your cap. After receiving your degree, move the tassel from the right to the left.
Your Moment on Stage
When your name is called, you’ll be guided to the dais to receive your degree. Take in the moment . It marks the culmination of your time at Thapar and the beginning of what comes next. Please remain in the auditorium until the Convocation proceedings have concluded.
Make It a Day to Remember
Convocation is a moment to celebrate with the people who have shared your journey. You are welcome to take photographs during the ceremony, while following the guidance of the Convocation team. Photo booths will also be available on campus for you and your family to capture the day together.
